The Delhi government is set to introduce three innovative educational programs in its schools, with a special event scheduled for tomorrow at 1 PM at Bharat Mandapam. This launch coincides with the second day of Seva Pakhwada, a two-week initiative focused on public service and community engagement, commemorating the Prime Minister's birthday.
Rashtraneeti: Empowering Student Leadership
As per the Education Department, the flagship initiative will be known as Rashtraneeti. This program aims to establish at least seven student-led committees within schools, addressing critical issues such as environmental concerns, anti-bullying measures, and canteen management.
Students will have the opportunity to elect their representatives through a voting process at the school level, with guidance from teachers. Officials anticipate that this initiative will enable students to gain valuable experience in decision-making, teamwork, and leadership.
NEEEV: Fostering Entrepreneurial Skills
Another program, NEEEV (New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision), will target students in grades 8 to 12, aiming to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets. This initiative will feature startup competitions, motivational talks from industry leaders, and the establishment of innovation councils at both school and district levels.
Selected student projects may receive financial backing of up to ₹20,000.
The Science of Living: Promoting Mental Well-being
The third initiative, The Science of Living, is dedicated to enhancing students' mental and emotional health. It will integrate yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices into the classroom environment.
Additionally, lessons on cybersecurity and digital detox will be included. Students will engage in practical activities, such as cleaning the Yamuna River, participating in role-plays, and enjoying puppet shows.
Moreover, the Delhi government plans to host a tree-planting event with diplomats and inaugurate 500 new Anganwadis.
